Because of the controversy, many want the government to ban the sale of Chinese products in the country and block apps with Chinese origin. The Indian Institute of Human Brands (IIHB) launched a 'Gun Shoot' telephone between June 17 and 18 to understand consumer sentiment about Chinese brands and the use of Chinese applications such as TikTok. Surveyed
IIHB immediately asked some 408 people about the fire if they would uninstall TikTok as it is a Chinese app.
According to the report, 56% know that Tiktok is a Chinese app. 32% did not know it. The report also said that only 21% of people said they would install TikTok because it is a Chinese app, while 62% were suspicious and said "maybe" while 11% did not.
The report states that all Chinese brands have little information about the country of origin. Overall, the report states that only 32% of respondents have a real right to China.
